Alot different?

His new Labrador look...I was laughing non-stop when Toby came out from the grooming session. Yess....we shave most of his fur...clean-cut one. Not because he has any skin problem or allergic, just that this moment Toby is under going fur-changing session. So we decided to shave all of his fur, mostly, and let his fur regrow back slowly. And yes, he doesn't look like a GR now, but its' ok. We still love him as before...muacks!

Toby were much more stable nowadays, but the biting habit were still there. We bought the A & W Bear for him, and within 2 days, the bear's nose were torn. Another soft toy gone. We observe that Toby prefer soft toy more than others,for example, the bone or balls. Pillow were his favorite too.

This Sunday is gonna be his 3rd month birthday. We had order the cakes and cookies for him and waiting for the pickup on this coming Saturday. Everyday, Baby keep repeating "He grown big liaw" . LOL....you should take a good look at his paw...HUGE!

Rush to Vet

It was 7.30 a.m in the morning.

I just woke up, as usual, getting ready to head off to work. I heard some grinning sound from Toby's stomach. He vomitted grey bubbles, with some transparent fluid.

We rush him over to Dr.Lai's place.

Another EL for me. Speechless.

Green Light for Toby!

It's been almost a week since I have blog on Toby...

We brought him over to Dr.Lai's place again last night, to do a check up on his 2nd vaccination and to get medicine for Toby, since the medicine is almost finish. Toby's weight has increase 1 kg++, weighing 6.6kg now. Now we hardly can hug him and walk around as he is getting heavy. We are planning to get leash soon for him, so he can walk with us. But Dr.Lai advise us not to let him walk on his own feet if we are bringing him out, as its dangerous for him,just in case Toby ter-lick something dirty and harmful.

Overall from last night check up, Toby can consider fully recover by now. And now, rise another problem, the skin section. According to Dr.Lai, Toby skin's seems not to be so good, as it is abit too dry. But according to him, this is not a so-called major problem, as it can be cure and fix from time to time. What matters most is Toby stay healthy all the time. Might be the food we served is not so right, so right after consultation, we went over the Denise's pet shop, located nearby Dr.Lai's place. During the Dogathon, we did ask for opinion about kibbles from varierty brand owners. So, we came to know about Artermis, graded as holistic food for doggy. And coincidence, the shop that is carrying this brand were the pet shop nearby Dr.Lai's place. Even Dr.Lai did also recommend this brand, so we decided to try it out. As usual, we bought the small pack, just to let Toby to have a try. We hope, by changing to this brand, can helps improve Toby's skin condition. Another hand, I do think that this brand were kinda costly compared to others, where the small pack (1.8kg) cost us about RM 39.00 and the biggest packing (17.8kg) cost about RM 189.00. Definetly a shell bomb towards my wallet!

For now, we are looking forward for the 3rd jab, also the last one. Still have few more weeks to go, and we pray again, everything will be smooth and perfect. Next Sunday Toby will marked his 3rd month birthday, as we will celebrate with him. We will order a cake for the birthday boy, and some cookies for him. And of course, we had permission from Dr.Lai about the ingredients. Just that, Toby cant consume too much for the cake as he is still puppy! Stay tune for his burfday celebration as we will takes lotsa pic for him!

Dogathon 2009

We reached at about 10.00 am, and by that the time the parking were so so full. We have to park kinda far away from the venue, and walk a quite distance. The weather was ..FREAKING HOT !!!

There were alot of dogs for sure! We saw alot of Toby's friends (GR), and they were so awesome! There were alot of booth, different brands of dog's food and activity center. Games booth were available too! We bought some coupon and played some games...

Saw the coupon that am holding? Cool ! Was just alike the monopoly money that we play with the dog face in it! RM 1.00 per coupon and all the games only cost 1 coupon at the booth.. Am not so good in the game, so didn't win much but baby were awesome! Check this out!

Woohoo! Baby won some food and merchandise at the booth! Well, the day were getting hotter, so once we finished our coupon, we went to the registration booth, where once you had register, you will entitle a goodies bag...contain alot of free gift voucher! Before that, lets see some furkid pic we taken at the Dogathon !

That's all the furkid pic we had taken, not much indeed. Mostly because the weather is so hot, and most of the time we were finding some shallow place to get rid from the sun. Alot of contest are being organize, and there were even free consultation and grooming for the furkids. I can say it's a great day for the furkids, and too bad that Toby can't join in the crowd yet. We even saw Dr.Lai and his wife, and they were tag along their Mr.Chow Chow and Labrador!

We decided to head home around 12.00pm, as we had to feed Toby lunch soon. So we drove back, and below are some piccies of the freebies we get from the Dogathon.

2nd Vaccination

We plan the 2nd jab will be on Saturday..

But when almost 5.oo pm, I suddenly ask baby, do we wanna send Toby for the vaccination, as Toby's medicine is run out..10 minutes later, baby called me..she told me Dr.Lai called, ask how is Toby and he is suppose to go over for check up and vaccination. LOL... never thought Dr.Lai was so concern about Toby, till call us to remind us, in case we forgot. So we told him that we will be there around 7 sth, then he say will see us then.

So baby fetch me at 6.oo pm sharp, where we go in 1 car. Reach there around 7.00 pm, so Dr.Lai starts to check on Toby's condition. He advise us to do the 2nd vaccination right away, for Toby's safety. Thou Toby's is not 100% healthy, but he say the delay will make his condition worst, as the chances of getting the virus increase. So without further delay, we agree to go ahead with the vaccination, thou there is some minor risk. We choose the 9 in 1 vaccination, as recommended by the vet.

It just took few seconds, the jab is done without Toby noticing it. Dr.Lai gave him a treat, so Toby was busy eating, rather than on the vaccination. So after took some antibiotic, we went off as the day is getting late. We went over to Ipet's boutique, where just a few shops away, and bought a shirt for Toby.

So it's dinner time, and me with baby, went over to "Yat Yeh Hing" restaurant for our steamboat dinner, which located nearby Kelana Jaya. I read some forums, and alot of pet owners say that this restaurant is a pet friendly place. So along with Toby, we have our dinner there. Toby starts to fall asleep, and very moody, as the condition there is kinda hot. Toby hate when it's hot and steamy weather.

Hope Toby can cope with the vaccination, just in case any vomits or diahrea, we need to send him back to the vet a.s.a.p! But we are glad, as we have longing for this 2nd for some time. We pray hard everyday, that Toby will be healthy always...

Another good news, Toby's weight increase again...it's 5.3 kg for today!

This is delicious!

He can finish 2 cans in a day, but he don't really like his kibbles. So in order to make him eat so that he can get his nutrition..we served kibbles and wet food, possibly, every meal. Now, he even have his supper...that makes him 5 meals a day..

Morning (8.00am), Lunch (1.00pm), Late-lunch (4.00pm), Dinner (8.00pm) & Supper (12.30am)

Vet visit 08/08/09

Yes...4.8 kg!

Send Toby to vet this morning, for another check up on his cough. Dr. Lai, the vet, say the cough still under control, just that need to boost up his immune system. If nothing went wrong and Toby 's condition still can maintain just the way it is, 2nd vaccination on this coming Thursday should be no problem. Still, there is risk, where he might catch up fever thou after the 2nd vaccination, but won't lead to any danger that leads to death. I feel relief in a moment, hopes everything will be okay.

Lunch Together!

It was 12.15pm, my lunch time. Baby suggest that she "ta pau" lunch and eat in the car! Why? Coz baby bringing Toby jai along for lunch. As Toby can't go to public place much, so we got to have lunch in the car, together with Toby. After all, baby oso worry Toby very boring at home.

So we parked our car aside, and enjoy our lunch. A peaceful lunch, as Toby were busy sleeping as always. So we put him at the seat behind, let him sleep all he wants. Once awhile he will open his eyes coz he smell some food around. LOL...We told him he can't have the food that we have, so he sleep back. We even hear him snores!

Hug him awhile, then baby send me back to work, and they head home...and when almost reached home, Toby pee on baby's car!LOL...Notty one!

Check Up

Went to the vet, and the 1st thing that need to do is weight him! Haha...Last Friday weight was 3.8kg, and today, Tuesday, 4 days after the last weight, he now weight 4.2kg!!! High 5 baby! We are not trying to make him fat, but Toby was having problem with his weight previously, where the vet told us he suppose to weight around 5kg at his age now.

We feed him alot, as for him to gain back all his nutrition that he needed during his growth. Baby called, as because am still working, to tell me this fatty increase his weight!

But still, vet told us that he can't confirm that Toby can proceed with his 2nd vaccination, as he is just in the midst of recovering. Vet warn us not to bring him out anymore, as it's very dangerous for his health. Hmm..seems like we really have to quarantine him again till he fully recover! Vet told us we got a very special puppy, not because he is extra good looking or intelligent, because his sickness is undefined. No vet can tell us whats the main problem with Toby. We went to 3 different vets, and all the vets told us the same thing. Toby doesnt act like other puppy, where others were hyper active, as for Toby, he can sleep whole day without playing! And about the 2nd vaccination, instead of those 8 in 1, 9 in 1, or 10 in 1, vet suggest us another kind of vaccination, mainly to prevent the "Distemper Virus". Vet say Toby's case was a special one, so he suggest something different, hoping can help him.

Anyway, we still need to return to the vet next week, again...for another check up. Though we are so tight right now with the budget, but we got no choice. We just want Toby to be healthy, thats the main objective. Just pray hard, the over budget won't be too much.

His Weekends!

Babysit him for 3 days, as baby is very busy with her exhibition. As always, he is very notty, keep biting people's hand and leg..makes me feel like plucking out his teeth..LOL

This few days, Toby slepts alot. A LOT, I mean. We keep most of his toys, left the bone for him to chew if his teeth itchy. So eventually Toby feels boring and sleep most of the time. Plus, the medication he is on now, I guess it's kinda strong where makes him feel blur and sleepy most the time. We want him to have a full rest, so we didn't play much with him. But we will take him for a walk around the house area, so that he won't be so so 100% boring. But that also we hug him, as doctor said, have to limit his activities, including walking around. So we hug him, take him for a walk, while to take some fresh air.

This weekend, Toby needs to visit the vet again, as the vet advise us to go back for another check up before the medication runs out. We are looking forward for it, as we hope there are some improvements in Toby. His coughs seems have slow down alot, sames goes to flu. And everythin is okay, we hope Toby can proceed with his 2nd vaccination. Pray hard, he will be okay.

His appetite had improved, as we served mostly wet food for him. We do mix up with some kibbles for him, as in, we served the kibbles at the first round, not so big portion, as we worry he can't finish it, and we have to throw it away.When he finished his kibbles, we served wet food, and no matter how much we gave him, he sure lick till the bowl shine!
