Welcome back, Toby

Sunday, a lazy day for Toby.

Toby was admitted to ward due to undefined disease / sickness. When we pick him from the pet shop, he starts to sleep...even till we were home, he continue to sleep. I was worry, as in, Toby refuse to play...or even have it meals. Next morning, Toby still refuses to eat his meal...so we worry and called the pet shop to tell them the situation. They ask us to drop by their shop and let them to have a look at Toby. We did...and the pet shop owner says that Toby was having fever and thats why he refuse to eat. We were advise to leave Toby with them for a few days, as they will help us to take care of him till he recover.

After left Toby with them, we went to look for Yenny and Viv for lunch and inform them about Toby's situation. They were worried too. Went lunch, then my heart getting more and more worried. Viv suggested to us that its better we bring Toby ourself to the vet to have a full check up on him. So we rush back to the pet shop, and when we were there, the owner also agreed that its better we sent him to vet ourself. The moment when we pick up Toby back from the shop, Toby's leg and face were wet. It's so obviously that the pet shop didn't take care of him at all. They just chuck him down to basement, feed him with some anti-fever pills.

We rushed to the nearest vet, but it was closed. Went to few more, its closed too. Viv and Yenny went back, helped us search on vet that is still available, while we were driving aimlessly looking a vet that is still open. Viv found one, call us, give us the info. We drove all the way to Puchong and we were able to make it before it close. Doctor have a checked on him..first thing from the Doctor is, under weight...Toby's weight 2.2kg, where Doctor say he suppose to be at least 5kg. I told Doctor the whole incident, what's the problem with Toby. Doctor took a sampl of his blood, run on a few test. Doctor told me that Toby might have inffecet "Distemper Virus". My heart nearly drops out when I hear it. But Doctor say it was too early to judge. At least need another week to see whether the symtoms of the virus. What we can do is just wait. All were uncertains.

So we went home, our hearts feeling gloomy. We comfort ourself, keeping each other in positive thinking. 2 days after taking the medicine, Toby starts to refuse to have it meals again. We were so worry. We decided to take him to another vet, this time to a vet that I've known for several years. Viv and Yenny keep asking about Toby's condition, worrying about him. Then we told them that we decide to send Toby to another vet to have a look at him. Viv offered to accompany baby to the vet since she is not working. That was very kind of her.

When reacd the vet, doctor runs some test on his blood again. On the virus test, the results shows that Toby's blood is negative on the virus. Doctor's conclusion is, it was a undefined virus and Toby's condition is very weak. Doctor suggest we return Toby to the pet shop and ask for a change or he can try to give some treatment to Toby by injecting some nutrition towards his body system. But doctor can't guarantee that the treatment will able to help Toby. After some discussion, we decide to give it a try on the treatment, the best options we had at the moment. Baby and me decides not to return Toby to the pet shop. He is the one we like, and no matter what, we agree to do the very best we can to save him.

Toby needs to be in ward for few days in order to receive the treatment. Me and baby were so worry, because the moment he is in the ward, he was very weak. He just lie down, and I rushed over to the vet right after work to see him. Doctor says Toby is not showing any positive sign. My heart sour...and tears were rolling down my cheek. I keep telling myself to stay positive.

The 2nd day, after lunch, baby went to visit Toby at the vet. To our suprise, he starts to show some positive sign. Baby called me, told me the good news. I was so happy, almost cried out in office. Thank God, he is back with us. I rushed again to the vet right after work, to visit him. Toby was so happy to see me, he even bark at me! I so wish to hug him, telling him am so glad that he is showing us the positive sign. We call Yenny and Viv, tell them about the good news. We keep on asking the doctor, when we can bring him back home with us, but doctor says the treatment at least need 3 days. So we had to patient. After all, its for Toby own good.

On Friday, doctor says that Toby is ready to go home. We were so happy, so baby went to pick him up on that day. But still, Toby needs to be monitor closely. Toby still on medication. But we were glad, that he make it through. He is our golden boy. And nothing is much more happier than having him back with us.

Special thanks we need to say to Viv and Yenny. For them to be so helpful and being there with us to go thru such a hard moments. We really appreciate it alot.
